Download TapTap Drums Looper, Drum Kit, Metronome! APK free
The TapTap app is a drums looper, drum kit, drum machine and metronome.
It is played by tapping drum kit images on the screen.
Are you a guitarist or bassist wanting to practice with a drum kit? A drummer feeling the need to invent new drum beats? A songwriter trying to communicate a specific beat to your band. Or just wanting to improve your rhythm? TapTap is for you! Connect your cell phone's earphones jack to a boom box, guitar amp, PA system, or other amp and experience the beat. Or just use the device speakers or ear phones.
Typically, a tempo (metronome) is set by tapping. Once the metronome is set, drums and cymbals are added to complete the drum rhythm for the song, which is then repeated every measure. These drum shots are automatically quantised, to produce a polished, professional sound. A by-product of quantisation is that some really interesting rhythms can result from beats that are set a bit early or late - often by mistake.
Alternatively, a mode (called free-form) can be chosen where the metronome is not set before entering drum set sounds. The user taps one or two measures from the drum kit and then indicates that programming is complete. A metronome is calculated and the drum shots as well as metronome are all set and looping begins.
Once you are happy with your basic rhythm, you can disable recording and produce fills, crashes etc which are not recorded but played.
This is all done on the fly, without having to set beats per minute, being limited to ‘Rock1’, Reggae2 etc.
Several parameters can be set for the loop, including:
Recording one or two measures of drumbeats
Time signature (4/4, 3/4, 2/4, or 6/8)
Metronome sound/nature
The metronome can be set up to be
Hats (closed hats sound)
One or two hats per count (8 beats per measure in 4/4 time)
Metronome setup:
Tapping the tempo or
Free-form setup as described above
No metronome (simply playing the virtual drum kit)
For each of these setup choices the app provides visual as well as audio feedback, through drum kit sounds / combinations of drum kit sounds.
Once the beat starts looping, more drum kit sounds can be added, which are also quantised.
The user can choose to disallow further recording of drum shots. Shots played now are not recorded, making it perfect for adding drum rolls and cymbal sounds for effect. The user can always revert to recording.
Drum loops can be paused and restarted.
Drumbeat sequences can be saved to a file and later reloaded.
You can choose from five different drum kits, including acoustic and electronic sets. You can also choose to upload and use your own kit.
When and if the earphone jack is plugged in, the user is warned (if the volume level is higher than 60%) that the level might possibly be harmful.
It is recommended that you first check out the TapTap Help web page - tap the Help (?) icon (top right of the screen), where you can find a short introduction to the app screens and icons.
Happy drumming!
