Travel Experiences, Memories and Valuable Tips from an Indian Backpacker

This blogging app helps its readers to get valuable information based on personal experiences from the destinations in India, Thailand, Egypt, Indonesia, Cambodia, Russia, and Hong Kong.

What can you expect from this blog? This blog is available in two languages, HINDI and ENGLISH. While the English blog is active from the very beginning, Hindi one is started recently. Hindi's blog is still evolving for better content. Few posts in both the languages appear identical (mere translations), but my focus is to keep the English section in an informative mode, while the Hindi section is in a storytelling mode with the relevant information.

As of now, the Hindi blog is just divided into two sections: India and Abroad. English blog maintains a few other sections, mainly:

Incredible India: Contain the travel memories from many parts of India. I have traveled extensively in many parts of India. You can find stories from many Indian states like Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, etc.

Destination Abroad: I don’t have a specific bucket list. Therefore, international travel is not a set pattern for me. Once, I wanted to explore Egypt, and I flew there. Next year, I wanted to dive in the Gili Islands, so I went to Indonesia. Trans-Siberian Railways Journey was a long-cherished dream, therefore, I traveled from Vladivostok to Moscow in Russia. All were random journeys with beautiful travel experiences. Under the abroad section, you can get extensive trip reports and many useful tips from countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Egypt, and Russia.

Travel Tips: This section contains many travel tips based on my personal experiences to support you curate your own trip. It includes tips on Scuba Diving, Trekking, Public Transports, Managing Money, etc while planning a domestic or an international trip.

Adventure: This section primarily related to the Trekking and the Scuba Diving activities. Trekking destinations include places like Roopkund Lake, Goecha La, Kedarnath, Hemis National Park, Mount Rinjani (Indonesia), etc. Scuba Diving and Snorkeling activities are based in Egypt, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Visa Information: One of the most popular sections in this blog. It contains visa information for Indian citizens to destinations like Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Egypt, and Russia. I am trying to update this section soon with the latest visa information.

Why Solo Backpacker?

Shakespeare once wrote ‘ What’s in a name?’. Something similar happened with this blog during the registration. I was searching for a good domain for my personal blog in 2011. I was obsessed with this term ‘Backpacker’, that was already registered with a leading outdoor magazine. After a lot of name hunting for a few more days, I ultimately settled for this, ‘Solo Backpacker’. That’s the history behind this blog name.

In fact, I don’t have a reservation about any kind of travel; be it solo, group, corporate, family, luxury or labels like the traveler, tourist, backpacker - Travel is only a soul searching experience for me without any specific label. I do love Solo Travel and prefer to travel alone. But I am equally thrilled in the company of my family and friends.

Backpacking also doesn’t mean cheap travels. I try to focus on good value travel and it doesn’t always mean traveling cheap. I do try saving money during the travel, but I also splurge more for memorable experiences.

Traveling turned out to be the most captivating experience, when I found strangers welcoming a solo traveler with the extended arms without any hesitation at the exotic as well as the remote locations.

Welcome to my world of Travel and Adventures. Feel free to connect with me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram.
