Music League will help you love music in a whole new, super fun, totally chill way.

If you want to discover new music, you will. If you want to re-discover the stuff you didn’t realize you’ve been missing, you’ll do that, too. You can share the artists you’re passionate about and you can decide who among your friends has the best taste in music… for a little while, at least. All the while, you’ll appreciate music like you never have before.

You and your friends (including new Music League friends), can play to win, play to reminisce or play to discover new tunes by looking at music in a new way.

Music League is all about the themes. Every round presents a new way to think about your music and a reason to share the songs you love, the ones you always thought deserved more love or the ones you find that perfectly fit the theme.

What song is best for sitting on a beach?
What Tik Tok song deserved more love in 2021?
What song is the best opening song on a band’s debut album? Third song on their 3rd album? Closing song? Opening AND closing song on an album?
Killer track from an artist with one name? Three names? A name that starts with A? B? Z?

Gameplay:
Players get to submit a song matching each theme by a particular date & time
The playlist, shuffled and anonymous, is generated in Spotify (their free version works, but you’ll have ads and random songs dropped into your playlists…)
Players vote for which song they like best and/or most closely fits the theme…
Commenting on songs is encouraged
Use the chat to reminisce, talk trash (kindly, please) and celebrate wins
A champion is crowned for each round… updating the leaderboard along the way
An overall champion for each Music League is named after the last round

History:
Tired of arguing endlessly about who discovered what band and when, some coworkers created a game using excel spreadsheets and mp3 files to objectively determine who knew the most about, and who had the best taste in, music… Music League was born. It was 2015. It quickly evolved into a web-app that is played now by thousands upon thousands of people, with more playing every day, all over the world.
Music League is a simple and incredibly engaging game from a small company created by people who, simply, love music, sharing it and talking about it. If imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, we’re feeling pretty good about ourselves. Our idea will probably be stolen (again), but make no mistake, this is where it all started. Music League loves you, we appreciate you, but more than anything, we appreciate your love of music.
