News From Heaven About Mentadaburi Stories of the Prophets

Allah Azza wa Jalla says:

لًّا لَيْكَ اءِ الرُّسُلِ ا ادَكَ اءَكَ الْحَقُّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

“And all the stories of the apostles We tell you, are stories by which We strengthen your hearts; and in this letter the truth has come to you and a teaching and a warning to those who believe." (Surah Hud: 120)

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says: (meaning) "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) has a good example for you (that is) for those who hope for (the mercy of) Allah and (the reward of kindness on) the Day of Resurrection and he mentions Allah a lot.” (Surat al-Ahzab: 21)

Belief in prophets and apostles is the fourth pillar of faith. Among the prophets, Adam is the first prophet, while Muhammad is the last prophet. Among the apostles, there are five people who get the title ulul 'azmi, namely the apostles who have extraordinary fortitude. They were Noah, Abraham, Moses, 'Isa, and Muhammad.

Before the Prophet Muhammad was sent, Allah had sent messengers to every people. The teachings or shari'ah of these apostles are different and are only intended specifically for the people. Prophet Muhammad is the last prophet and messenger and was sent to all mankind. His Shari'ah perfected the teachings of the earlier apostles. Although there are differences, the core of all the teachings of the prophets and apostles is monotheism or the oneness of God.

Not all prophets and apostles are mentioned by name and story in the Qur'an or hadith. In addition, there are several known figures in Islamic literature, but their prophetic status is debated, such as Khidr, Luqman al-Hakim, Dzulqarnain, and Maryam.

In Islam, a prophet is a person who receives revelation from Allah. Among the prophets, there are those who are appointed as apostles, that is, someone who receives Allah's revelation and is obliged to spread his teachings.

Some of the differences between prophets and apostles:

The prophet is limited to receiving revelation without having to preach it, while an apostle is obliged to preach it to his people.
An apostle is definitely a prophet, but a prophet is not necessarily an apostle.
The apostles were sent with new shari'ah/laws, while the prophets only followed the laws and regulations of the previous apostles.
The apostolic level is higher than the prophetic level.
