Javier Gerardo Milei (Buenos Aires, Argentina; October 22, 1970) is an economist, writer, showman; Argentine teacher and lecturer of liberal libertarian philosophy, associated with the Austrian school of economic thought. He has become known for his multiple media appearances and for his strong criticism of the mandates of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Mauricio Macri.

He has a degree in Economics from the University of Belgrano and has completed two master's degrees at the Institute of Economic and Social Development (IDES) and the University Torcuato di Tella, studies he paid with money from his parents. He was chief economist at Máximo AFJP, chief economist at the Broda Study and a government consultant at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes. He was also a senior economist at HSBC. He is a member of B20, Economic Policy Group of the International Chamber of Commerce and World Economic Forum. He is the author of academic papers, newspaper articles and books, in some cases co-authored with other economists, since 2012 he leads the Economic Studies division of the Acordar Foundation.

For more than 21 years he has been Professor of Macroeconomics, Growth Economics, Microeconomics and Mathematics for Economists, since 2013 he has been reading and lecturing on Austrian economics, on which he stated that «the conceptual clarity of the Austrians is superlative and dominates strongly to the rest of the schools ». Milei is the host of her own weekly radio show called "Demolishing Myths."

In the year 2018 he debuted as an actor in his own play called «The Milei office» with Claudio Rico and Diego Sucalesca. The work is directed by Nito Artaza.
